Our mission is to empower African women by providing avenues for resolving issues that affect them as women and new migrants.

The African Women’s Federation of South Australia’s programs are funded by the Australian Government Settlement Grants Program.

Statement from our Vice Chairperson

It has been a great pleasure an honor for me to serve this Wonderful Organization, since it’s inception. First as one of the first members, receiving from first hand the great support; being empowered by gaining skills through one of the Business entrepreneurship programs, facilitated and offered by AWFSA, opening a small business and becoming a whole seller import/export business.

Having received, I thought I owed to my people to also give back, so I put my hand up for the Treasurer position 2010 -2013. Now proud to be the Vice Chairperson, and Acting Chairperson.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Women, for their confidence in me, and encourage them even more, to come and work together, to make this Organization what we would like it to be, and through this improve the quality of our lives here in Australia

It is our desire to see women of African heritage unify with the collective goal of empowering one another through the provision of support services, various community based initiatives and advocacy.

I hereby extend the warmest of welcomes to all both old and new.

Warmest wishes,

Vice-Chairperson, Rosaline Braima
